Sobre Metauten

Heritage

The heritage of Metauten is linked to its medieval past within the valley of Allín, with a society formed by nobles and farmers and a traditional economy based on agriculture, vineyards, and artisanal activities such as the ancient weaving workshops, now disappeared. The Truffle Museum stands out, a pioneering center in Spain dedicated to the black truffle, where its history, cultivation, natural environment, and cultural and gastronomic value are interpreted, becoming the main heritage and cultural reference of the municipality and a key element to understand the rural and natural identity of Tierra Estella.

Celebrations

The festivities of Metauten are celebrated in a close and rural environment, with special prominence given to the patron saint festivals, which bring together neighbors and visitors around religious acts, popular meals, and recreational activities. In recent years, the days and events related to the truffle, driven by the Truffle Museum, have also gained relevance, combining dissemination, gastronomy, and promotion of the territory, reinforcing the cultural and festive identity of the municipality within Tierra Estella.

Gastronomy

The cuisine of Metauten is closely linked to the traditional cooking of Tierra Estella and the rural environment. Dishes made with garden products, legumes, meats, and homemade sausages stand out, as well as simple seasonal recipes. In recent years, the black truffle has gained special prominence, present both in local cuisine and in gastronomic events, adding a unique value to a cuisine based on product quality and Navarrese tradition.
