Sobre Navalcán

Heritage

The most prominent archaeological element of Navalcán is the Dolmen of Navalcán, dated to the 4th millennium BC. The parish church of Our Lady of the Mountain, the Hermitage of Saint Peter the Apostle, the so-called Roman Bridge or the Bridge of Valtrivieso, as well as ethnographic constructions such as the Water Tank of Fuentarro, the Hut of Torresnero, and the Montoya mills also stand out.

Celebrations

The patron saint festivities are celebrated on August 15 in honor of Our Lady of the Mountain and Saint Roch. They are also celebrated Saint Paul on January 25, the pilgrimage of Saint Isidore on May 15, and the feast of Saint Peter on June 29, with mass, lemonade, and sweets.

Gastronomy

Traditional cuisine stands out for dishes made with local products, such as lamb stew, picadillos, and chafaina. In pastry, typical items include doughnuts, suspiros, puches, pumpkin shells, perrunillas, and cristones.
