Sobre Cirauqui

Heritage

The urban area, with its walls, gates, and winding streets, constitutes an attraction that deserves to be known. The Church of San Román, as well as the Church of Santa Catalina de Alejandría, are two monuments that cannot be forgotten.

Within the term of Cirauqui, the numerous sections of Roman and medieval roads that traverse its territory, as well as the bridges that, following the Camino de Santiago, must cross the Salado River, deserve to be mentioned.

The most important road is the Roman road of Iguste, which connected the valley of Guesálaz with the Roman city of Andelos. It has a length of approximately 3.5 kilometers and is one of the most beautiful roads in Navarra. We also find in Cirauqui the old road of Oteiza or calzada de Txurikoa, of medieval style, which has a length of 1 kilometer and is very well preserved for its age.

Celebrations

Gastronomy

The cuisine of Cirauqui combines the culinary tradition of Navarre with high-quality local products. Dishes such as roasted lamb, migas, piquillo peppers, and vegetables from the Navarre garden stand out. Artisan sausages and wines from the nearby Denomination of Origin Navarre are also highly appreciated.
