Sobre El Castellar

<p><strong>Heritage</strong></p>

One of the most remarkable landmarks in El Castellar is its impressive castle, built in the 12th century and partially restored in the 1970s. This majestic structure is privately owned and is a must-see for lovers of history and medieval architecture.

The Town Hall, also known as the Casa del Concejo or Casa del Lugar, is another architectural gem dating from the late 16th century. Its elegant design and historic charm take visitors back in time.

The picturesque hermitage of Santa Bárbara, dating from the 17th century and located in the heart of the village, offers peaceful architecture perfect for moments of reflection.

The church is an 18th-century masterpiece with three naves:

– The central nave has a barrel vault with lunettes.

– The side naves feature groin vaults.

Its lintelled doorway framed by pilasters, entablature and an upper niche illustrates the art and architecture of the period.
