Villamayor de Monjardín is often known as the village of the four lies, since it is neither a town, nor is it larger, nor does it have nuns, nor does it have a garden.
They are points of interest, in this town the Camino de Santiago, the parish of San Andrés, the remains of the Castle of Banu Qasi which houses, at the top of Mount Monjardín, the hermitage of San Esteban and its cistern. The Processional Cross, of high artistic value, should be highlighted.
Small festivals are celebrated for the Cross of May on May 3rd when it coincides with a holiday, and if not, on May 1st. The feast of San Salvador takes place on July 25th if it is a holiday or, otherwise, on the nearest holiday. The patronal festivals are celebrated from September 12th to 14th and the Valley Festival takes place on the first Saturday of September.
