Easy About this route
The CN Vía Verde del Ferrocarril Vasco-Navarro is an emblematic route that reuses the path of the old Vasco-Navarro train, known as the "trenico," which connected Estella-Lizarra (Navarra) with Bergara (Gipuzkoa), passing through Vitoria. This railway operated from 1927 to 1967 and was a key piece in regional transportation, both for people and goods.
This route starts in Estella-Lizarra on a very well-conditioned path specially designed for cycling. We depart from Estella towards Zubielqui and continue to Zufía, where we can enjoy magnificent views of the Sierra de Lokiz and its limestone cliffs.
We continue our journey crossing the town of Murieta, where we turn around to return by the same path to Estella-Lizarra, enjoying the surroundings again from another perspective.
