About this route

Linear round trip route that allows you to delve into the heart of the Soria Highlands following part of the Great Highland Trail (Stage 15), starting and ending in San Pedro Manrique. The route mainly runs through forest tracks and well-paved roads, making it especially suitable for electric bicycles and scenic cycling tourism.

From San Pedro Manrique, the route enters an environment of reforested pine forests and open landscapes, witnesses to the historical process of territorial transformation in the 20th century. Along the way, areas linked to ancient now-deserted nuclei are crossed, such as Sarnago, an example of community recovery of rural heritage, and areas near Valdelavilla, currently converted into a tourist complex.

The route offers a peaceful experience, with no traffic, and wide views of the Sierra de Alcarama and a strong interpretative component of the landscape: forests, ancient grazing lands, and traditional paths that explain the depopulation and recent history of the region. Being a round trip route, the cyclist can regulate the effort, return at any point, and enjoy the surroundings without technical pressure.

The route ends again in San Pedro Manrique, a locality of great ethnographic and cultural value, known for its Fiestas del Paso del Fuego, declared of National Tourist Interest, and for preserving a notable set of popular mountain architecture.
