Heritage
Fuendetodos offers a guided tour through its streets that allows you to discover its cultural and ethnographic heritage, intimately linked to the figure of Francisco de Goya, its most illustrious neighbor. During the walk, spaces such as the parish church where he was baptized, the ancient ice houses, the fountain that gives the village its name, and various corners that preserve the artist's footprint are visited.
The municipality combines tradition and contemporary creation thanks to Fuendetodos Goya Street Art, a municipal initiative that turns the streets into an open-air gallery. It currently has 23 murals, located on facades and doors provided by the neighbors, which grow each year during the Goyesca Festival held in September.
The Goya heritage is completed with the Birthplace of Goya, built in the early 18th century and declared a National Historic Monument, where the painter was born in 1746 and spent his childhood; the Zuloaga Room, dedicated to graphic art and temporary exhibitions of historical and contemporary artists; and the Goya Engraving Museum, which shows the importance of engraving in the artist's work and houses valuable collections acquired through donations and auctions.
Overall, Fuendetodos presents itself as the cradle of Goya and a reference for dialogue between historical heritage and contemporary art.
