<p><strong>Heritage</strong></p>

Mosqueruela was declared a Historic-Artistic Site in 1982. It preserves much of its original medieval wall and its most emblematic buildings. A walk through its streets reveals the passage of centuries.

  1. Church of Santa Engracia (1519) – now the Cultural Center.
  2. Town Hall – 17th century.
  3. Parish Church of the Assumption – 14th–18th centuries.
  4. Old Hospital – 16th century.
  5. Museum of Historical Documents and Old School Museum.

<p><strong>Festivities</strong></p>

  • Saint Anthony (January): celebrated with traditional bonfires.
  • Saint Peter (April 29): feast in honor of the patron saint of Mosqueruela.
  • Charity Festivities (May): the most important celebration of the town, held the last Sunday in May in honor of the Virgin of the Star.
  • Saint Lambert (June): with youth festivities (“Quintos”).
  • Shepherds’ Festival (July): last weekend of the month.
  • Livestock Fair (September): first Sunday of the month, combining leisure and trade.
  • Saint Martin (November): originally an agricultural celebration marking the end of the harvest, now maintained as a pilgrimage to the sanctuary.


<p><strong>Gastronomy</strong></p>

Mosqueruela’s cuisine combines tradition with mountain products. Typical dishes include chickpea flour porridge (gachas), pellas, and stews with potatoes, cabbage, legumes, mushrooms, and truffles. Among meats, sausages, lamb, game, and pork preserves in oil stand out. In pastries: French toast, sweet potato cakes, and almond cookies. Typical drink: zarzón, made with wine, honey or lemon, and bicarbonate.
