Heritage
Tielmes has a remarkable historical and natural heritage with human presence since Prehistoric times, highlighted by the Cave site of Cerro de Juan Barbero, one of the oldest from the Age of Metals in the Community of Madrid, as well as Roman and Visigothic remains, including a Visigothic necropolis. Its architectural heritage includes the Parish Church of Saints Justus and Pastor (17th–18th centuries), the Hermitage of the Holy Children, the Palace of the Counts of Pernía, the House Museum and Rural School, the cave houses of Cerro de las Perdices, the municipal washhouse, and the 17th-century stone bridge over the Tajuña River. All of this is set within a valuable natural environment of the Tajuña Valley, with fertile plains and moorland landscapes and routes such as the Tajuña Greenway.
