Sobre Dicastillo

Heritage

Your interesting urban area, where a large number of heraldic buildings are located, is divided into three neighborhoods that are connected to each other by steep streets and stairs of clearly medieval origin.

The Parish of San Emeterio and San Celedonio, with its Romanist Main Altarpiece and the Image of the Virgin of Iratxe, the Palace of the Countess of la Vega del Pozo, the hermitage of the Virgin of the Snow and the proximity of the holm oak of Montejurra, make this municipality a place of interest.

Together with Arellano, both localities have joined forces to create a new space under the name of Montejurra Bizi a network of itineraries in nature that encompasses the surroundings of Montejurra and includes hiking routes, Nordic walking, trail running, and MTB.

Celebrations

Dicastillo celebrates the ASPARAGUS FAIR, a popular event featuring the tasting of fresh asparagus, dancing, music, craft and food fair, and visits to local wineries with tastings of their best wines.

Gastronomy

The cuisine of Dicastillo stands out for the quality of the products from the Navarre garden and the culinary tradition of Tierra Estella. Typical dishes include roasted lamb, pochas, asparagus, piquillo peppers, and artisan sausages, accompanied by wines from the Denomination of Origin Navarra.
