Sobre Escatrón

Heritage

Escatrón is a locality marked by its connection to the Ebro River and a rich history that spans from the Iberian and Roman settlements to its relationship with the Monastery of Rueda. Its heritage features the Baroque church of Our Lady of the Assumption, the hermitage of Saint Agueda, and the convent of San Javier, along with historical elements linked to the river such as the ancient wharf.

Its natural environment combines river landscapes, pine forests, and unique geological formations such as the paleochannels, offering a space of great environmental value where the Ebro and Martín rivers converge.

The patron saint festivities are in honor of Saint Agatha, on February 5, with a traditional procession of blessed breads carried by single young women dressed in traditional attire.

It is also celebrated the Assumption of the Virgin and Saint Roch, on August 15 and 16.

Gastronomy

The cuisine of Escatrón stands out for its excellent empeltre variety olive oil, with Bajo Aragón Denomination of Origin, and for ternasco, one of the most appreciated meats with its own designation of origin. High-quality products that reflect the agricultural and livestock tradition of the region.
