The Villa of Nerpio is located embedded in the wedge formed by the provinces of Granada, Jaén and Murcia, a crossroads of paths where Castile is lost in the South. Its municipal term borders Murcia, Jaén and Granada. It borders, nothing more and nothing less than seven terms: Yeste, Letur, Huéscar, Puebla de Don Fadrique, Santiago de la Espada, Moratalla and Caravaca de la Cruz. All of this, undoubtedly, has influenced the ways and manners of the people of Nerpio, their traditions, speech, and hospitality, a kind of mixture of nearby cultures that make the ethnographic aspects of the villa more interesting. Its landscape, dominated by the Sierra de las Cabras, is bathed by the waters of the Taibilla River, on whose banks traces of a long history of human settlement are preserved.
This municipality, surrounded by beautiful landscapes, boasts several monumental buildings such as the Town Hall, the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption, and several traditional hermitages. The cultural offering is completed by the Ethnological Museum of Nogueruelas.
It may seem that all the towns in this region lie at the height of the sky, yet Olba, at only 660 meters above sea level, enjoys the valley of the Mijares River and the mild climate that this location provides.
Located south of Alt Urgell , Oliana retains the charm of a pre-Pyrenean village with history and landscape in equal measure.
