The village is located on the slopes of Castle Hill (San Cristóbal Hill), where remnants of an ancient Muslim fortress can still be seen — masonry walls with plaster remains and a section of wall built in “fishbone” pattern.
Set on a hillside on the right bank of the Tajuña River, it has been traditionally known since time immemorial for its exceptional medicinal waters.
